HIV testing services (HTS) were first digitized in Kenya by KeHMIS II in 2018. Since then the number of implementations has grew widely to over 300 implementation in Kenya. The implementation for eHTS has been achieved through EMR solutions (KenyaEMR and IQCare) and the addition of mobile solutions (mUzima and Afyamobile) for each EMR solution respectively.
PEPFAR in 2019 advocated for digitization of all HTS services in implementing sites in Kenya to aid in fast tracking data collection and monitoring of HIV Testing and Prevention services adoption. Palladium on the other hand has enhanced the solution to support community initiatives that are key for HTS service provision.
The services offered for HTS have been key towards monitoring HTS uptake, linkage to care for identified HIV positive clients and the partner notification services for index testing and tracking. The linkage to care monitoring has been institutionalized as a key bi-weekly and monthly report to track the first 90 SDG goal using data provided from these solutions.
The below diagram illustrates the distribution of HTS solutions in Kenya.
